A Hugh Success!

WOW, what a wild weekend at the 41st Annual Canon Car Club Car Show! About 4pm Friday, it was looking pretty dim, rain was coming down and, at a minimum, the Friday Picnic looked like a washout.  AND THEN THE SKIES CLEARED!!  It may have still been a little damp by 6pm and the start of festivities but the sun was out - let the festivities begin.  We had people inside the tent and out on the grounds all having a good time, enjoying the fellowship of like-minded auto enthusiasts. All in, we served 260 hot dogs to our guests and club... Read The Rest

April 1 was no fools day here in Canon City!  A spectacular day, sunshine, mid 60's, blue skies and little wind made for a near perfect day for the 2023 Canon Car Club Garage tour. The tour started at 8am, though the usual suspects were early, at A-1 / Pikes Peak Motors in Penrose.  Coffee and doughnuts were a nice jump start.  It was obvious from the get-go that this was probably going to be a bigger event than we'd anticipated.  I still lust after that last Ford-powered wooden boat. Next stop was T-A Customs - home of some of the finest... Read The Rest

One of our newest members suggested we send out a regular mail / e-mail about upcoming events so people could get them scheduled and we could coordinate things like who might be interested / going, meeting points, departure times and other logistics - Thanks Kerry! So here is a first shot at it.  Most of these are not officially sponsored Canon Car Club events but are things of which we are certainly fans...  I'll work to keep this article updated and add reminders (the green boxes you'll notice from time to time as events come up!). 26 March - Colorado Springs Garage... Buffet or Catered?

For years now, the Canon Car Club has hosted a Friday Night Picnic for all Car Show Attendees.  The Picnic is free of charge to all participants and their families - Hot dogs are the main course and Canon Car Club members (mostly their wives!) provide a wide selection of side dishes, salads, cookies, cakes and other deserts! We have seen that some other events offer a catered meal and the Club has had some internal discussions about going that route for our future events, perhaps 2024.  In-N-Out Burgers, for example, might be an interesting option but are also a potential... The Canon Car Club held its annual Christmas Party last Thursday, 8 December, at the Royal Gorge. Our 2022 event was one of the first and, to date, largest group dinners hosted by the Royal Gorge team in their updated and remodeled restaurant. The festive menu included chips / dip and spring rolls to start, a selection of vegetables, garlic potatoes with both ham and turkey for the main course and chocolate-dipped crème puffs and cookies to finish a wonderful meal all served in a buffet style. As usual, our fearless leader spent a few moments thanking the many club members who... Read The Rest
